TASTING NOTES: GRAHAM CRACKER, BLACK CHERRY, CARAMEL
RECOMMENDED FOR: POUR OVER / ESPRESSO / FRENCH PRESS / MOKA POT
First and foremost, know that this coffee will bring you joy and a small cup of enlightenment every time you brew it. Fazenda Olhos D'Agua is one of our first single farm, single varietal coffees. This Red Catuai Natural was sourced by Ally Coffee in South Carolina, a boutique specialty coffee importer with a highly curated selection.
Not only is this a comforting, approachable coffee that is great for nearly any brewing method, this red catuai produced by Marcelo Assis Nogueira at Fazenda Olhos D'Agua shows us its inherent qualities in order for us to better understand coffee in general. It is a unique thing in coffee to be able to say "this is what a red catuai natural from Minas Gerias tastes like." Often, coffees known as "community lots" are sourced from a mill where several small farms bring their coffee cherry to be processed and brought to market. Community lots can be excellent, especially when the mill/exporter is taking extra care with milling, sorting, drying and storage. We carry several community lots and love them for both the consistency they bring and what they say about their growing region.
But what Fazenda Olhos D'Agua brings us is the opportunity to differentiate one flavor attribute from another and to do so in a very approachable way. Expect more coffees like this in the future and for sure more rambling product descriptions...

Roasted to Order
Coffee freshness matters. When you order online, your order will leave our shop in less than 72 hours. In most cases, orders purchased from our website are roasted every week on Wednesday and delivered or shipped on Thursday. If you order on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, and we happen to have your entire order in stock, your order may ship the same day. Otherwise, it will be queued for the next roast day.
We're a company that is dedicated to better understanding our contribution to environmental health and we're dedicated to giving you a better choice in your coffee packaging. To start we are providing our smallest bag size in 100% Compostable material (nothing to remove). Once our volume can sustain it, we would like to switch to all compostable packaging. Until then here is a list for your reference: 6oz bags (100% compostable), 12oz bags (currently non-compostable) or buy in bulk 5lb bags (currently non-compostable).
