Sean Lofton has a way of interpreting the vessel that translates seamlessly into a variety of forms. Here, you see the artist’s interpretation of a pitcher. It is at the same time conceptual and recognizable. This pitcher fits comfortably within the scope of his work which plays on ideas of Dystopian landscapes, and the ability of the clay to look and feel like other materials. The scrapes and scaring on the surface seem to bleed with iron oxides mimicking rusted architectural metal. And in contrast, the interior, soft, smooth, and clean.

This piece is intended for use as a tall pouring vessel, but also functions well as a vase for a flower arrangement. It holds water and is 100% non-porous.
