Sean Lofton has a way of interpreting the vessel that translates seamlessly into a variety of forms. Here, you see the artist’s interpretation of a teapot. It is at the same time conceptual and recognizable. This pitcher fits comfortably within the scope of his work which plays on ideas of Dystopian landscapes, and the ability of the clay to look and feel like other materials. The scrapes and scaring on the surface seem to bleed with iron oxides mimicking rusted architectural metal. And in contrast, the interior, soft, smooth, and clean.

This piece is intended for use as an ewer or oil cruet and works well as such. It holds liquid and is 100% non-porous. Also makes an excellent display piece when not in use. The perfect addition to your home art collection.
