Sourcing Details
A coffee named after the painting by Wassily Kandinsky known for its big, colorful and thoughtful mark making starkly contrasting the tedium painting landscapes, objects or portraiture popular at the time. Composition IV stood out for more than its use of color and lack of a clearly defined subject. It is big, bold and full of subtle nuance, much like this coffee.
Our preferences for coffee are displayed prominently across our entire menu; sweetness, chocolate, fruit & full body are ubiquitous. This blend fits well within those parameters with a small addition of a bit of roastiness for those that can appreciate it. Pushing the roast just a bit longer we're a finding a lot of interesting flavors such as: dried plum or raisiny flavors, dark chocolate, and nuttiness.
If you're looking for French Roast or Vienna this is not it. There will be little to no oil on the surface of the bean. It is best enjoyed as a filter brew, french press or moka pot.
